Denim and Stripes

Hello! It's been a while, but it's still so dreary here! Yesterday it was finally sunny, but 20 degrees, so that wasn't fun. BUT I had a cute outfit on, so I toughened up and headed to the wonderful outdoors.

I wore a skirt with leggings and a jean jacket. This outfit is really cute and "springy," so it kind of cheered me up :)

leggings: Macy's | skirt: Urban Outfitters | top: Gap | jacket: TJ Maxx | boots: DSW

I also got these adorable new sunnies from JC Penney. Love the floral print!

Today is my last day of school until April 1st! I'm missing school on Friday because we are heading down to Florida, then getting on a cruise with some other families from my school on Saturday! The cruise is going around the Caribbean area, and I am so excited! I am in desperate need for warmth and sunshine! :)

The cruise is for a week, so I probably won't have a blog post during that time. I'll try to be on instagram as much as possible, (which will be hard since I'll be in the middle of the sea...) so follow me there for updates! (@poshgirlfashionista)

Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful Thursday!

Black + White + Pastel

Hello! Sorry I didn't have a blog post on Monday or Tuesday. Monday was a boring outfit, boring day.

Yesterday I wore the new dress I bought at TJ Maxx over the weekend. I wore it with Macy's tights, a Banana Republic cardigan, and tall black boots.

Since this dress is so feminine from the lace and floral pattern, I didn't want to really toughen it up, but more "sweeten it up." So I added this pastel colored cardigan.

Then I added another jewel-tone color, light pink, in a necklace, to complete the look.

I also love this belt. You can't really tell, but the buckle is a small bow - this also adds to the feminine look.

And don't forget to enter my giveaway on Instagram for a chance to win a Vera Bradley coin purse!

Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for reading!

Montana

Hi guys! Sorry there was no post last week. But over the weekend, I went to Montana with my dad and my friend Katy. We had a blast! I've been going to Montana for a very long time, and I absolutely love it there. Here are some pictures from the weekend!

I would LOVE to go to Montana State University in Bozeman!

So we had a wonderful time, and I can't wait to go back, whenever that may be!

BOOKS

I finished reading Paper Towns by John Green. I thought it was okay. Not my favorite book by him, but it was hilarious and entertaining to read. My favorite book by John Green is Looking for Alaska.

For my english class next year, we have to do a lot of summer homework, and part of that is to read The Alchemist. I ordered that on amazon, so as soon as it gets here I'll start on that.

MUSIC

I just bought Fall Out Boy's new album Save Rock and Roll. I am obsessed with it! Great new music, so go check it out if you haven't already. My favorite songs from the album are The Phoenix, My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark, Alone Together, Miss Missing You, and Young Volcanoes...I guess I love them all :)

Hope everyone has a good week, and I'll hopefully have a new post next week! Thanks for reading!

Clothes and Paper Towns

Hello! Sorry I'm a little later than I said I would be. I didn't have time to do a post before the weekend because I went to my friend's cabin for the weekend. But I'm here now!

CLOTHES

One outfit I wore this week was just some light wash denim shorts with a light pink t-shirt. This outfit is very basic and easy to wear. You can add accessories and fun shoes to make it even cuter. These kind of outfits are necessary in the summer because they're perfect for just hanging out and doing whatever.

Another outfit I wore this week is perfect for a night out with friends. A cute summer dress with a jean jacket and sandals is so easy to wear. Adding accessories and a cute bag complete the look.

dress: Express | jacket: TJ Maxx | shoes: Target

And of course I had to add in a weird picture because why not?

BOOKS

I am about to start Paper Towns by John Green. I've read his other books and LOVED them. He is my favorite author currently. I love watching him and his brother Hank on their YouTube channel vlogbrothers. If you haven't watched any of their videos, GO WATCH THEM. They are so hilarious and very entertaining to watch.

Does anyone have any good book recommendations? I love to read, so let me know!

Hope everyone has a good week, and I'll have another post at the beginning of next week! And to my fellow Americans: Happy almost 4th of July!

SUMMER

Hello! I have been SUCH a terrible blogger lately, and I am so sorry. Since I don't have my license to drive yet, I don't really go many places where I wear cute clothes and get dressed up, so it is very hard to have a daily post.

But YAY SUMMER!!!!!!!!! I am so glad it's summer. I've been very busy with dance practice starting again. I actually just got home from a dance team lake party, which was so fun! We all just hung out on the lake and swam and talked and it was just a blast. I've also been babysitting a lot, so I'm very busy!!

Thank you so much for being patient with me. I am going to try something new where I just do a weekly post with some outfits I've worn that week. Maybe I'll add in some other random things like book/movie reviews, recipes, just some fun stuff. I'll try to put up the first post later tonight or tomorrow :)

Thank you again! Have a wonderful Friday!

Photo shoot

Hello! Sorry I've been away for a while. But it's finally starting to feel like spring, and the winter coat is officially in the closet! Yay!

A couple weekends ago, my friends and I dressed up and did a "photo shoot" type thing by the lake. I love these pictures!

More to come soon! Thanks for staying with me :)

Gray Skies

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good start to your week. I am so sorry that I have been very inconsistent with my posts. As you will see in these pictures, it feels and looks like the middle of winter. It is gloomy, cold, snowy, and just sad outside. I have very little to no energy to even go outside because it is so cold. SO, that isn't fun. I don't really have a place inside my house to take pictures either, so hopefully within the next couple of weeks it will start to warm up, and I can go outside again. Until then, my posts will probably be spread out and infrequent, but I'll try my hardest to post some! Thank you for understanding! :)

Anyway, today I wore a gray ensemble to represent my feelings (or just because I own a lot of gray...). It was comfy and cute: my kind of outfit!

sweater: Liz Claiborne for JC Penney | top: Prabal Gurung for Target | jeans: Abercrombie & Fitch | boots: DSW

A bigger and longer gray sweater is an awesome thing to own. You can wear one with a shirt or a dress or jeans or leggings or a dress or shorts. BASICALLY EVERYTHING. If it matches... But really, it is a very versatile item, plus it's cozy.

Pairing a fun-patterned top with this kind of sweater is an awesome way to wear it. Adding some jewelry makes it even cuter.

I got the ring on the left on Sunday in Madison, WI. I got the other one in San Francisco last weekend. I'm kind of digging black jewels if you couldn't tell... :)

So thanks for sticking with me and have a great week!

San Francisco

Hi! Over the weekend I went to San Francisco with some people from my high school choir. It was AMAZING. We had so much fun, and it was just awesome.

So I had an amazing time in San Francisco, and I wish I could go back! Such an awesome city.

When I got back on Monday night, ALL THE SNOW HAD MELTED HERE! YEAH. ALL OF IT. Then guess what happened?

it snowed again.

It's not much, but there is snow on the ground. It's April 10th. Ughhhhhhhh.

Anyway, I hope you are having a good week! Thank you for reading!

Monday Once Again

Hi all! Hope everyone had a good week last week. I had an awesome spring break! You can check out my instagram for some pictures of my vacation.

Today was opening day for the Minnesota Twins (Minnesota's baseball team), and my dad, brother, and I went to the game! Even though it was 30 degrees and I was wearing my winter coat, I love baseball, and I can't wait for the season to start. I'll try to have a real blog post on Tuesday or Wednesday, thanks for being patient!

Hope you had a great day!

18 March 2013

Hello!

Hi everybody! I'm sorry it's been a while. I've been pretty overwhelmed these past few weeks, and I felt like I needed a break. The weather is so gloomy here, so I have very little motivation to try hard with my outfits, much less take pictures outside. But there is one week left of school until spring break, and I'm so excited!

Last week, we had a couple of sunny, warm days, so I finally took pictures of an outfit. It's a pretty basic outfit, and it's very easy to wear, but it's cute nonetheless.

sweater: Francesca's | pants and shoes: Macy's | scarf: Target

Just being outside in the sunshine made me feel so much better. I had a lot of fun taking these pictures!

And Drake, my dog, decided to come along as well.

Thank you for staying with me these past weeks, and I hope I can be a more consistent blogger as spring comes around.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful Monday! :)

Break

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't been very active this week. It's very cold and snowy here, so I have no motivation to go outside and take pictures, and I've just been having a bad week. I'll hopefully start posting regularly again soon, but for now I am just feeling a bit overwhelmed. I hope you all understand, and please follow me on instagram (poshgirlfashionista) for more frequent updates.

Thanks and have a great week!

Spring Break Must Haves

Happy Tuesday! Sorry there was no post yesterday - busy day!

I found a really great page on target.com about must haves for spring break, so I'm going to share some of them with you! I love these ideas, and these things will definitely be packed in my suitcase.

1. Maxi dress - I just got one from TJ Maxx, and I'm so excited to wear it. Here is one from Target that is similar to mine:

2. Patterned swimsuit - I don't have this suit, but I think it's adorable!

find it here
3. Tank tops - Basic or dressy, you can't go wrong with a bunch of tank tops. Here are two of my favorites from Target:

 4. Cover up - You'll need a cute cover up to go with your swimsuit. This was my favorite from Target, and I really want to buy it!

find it here
5. Sandals - You will definitely want a pair of flat sandals, but don't get some that are super flat. Those tend to hurt your feet if you walk around a lot. I love these sandals; they're simple, but they incorporate the hot color of the season - green. These might be too flat still, but they are cute.

6. Shorts - I don't like buying super short shorts so I feel uncomfortable wearing them in public, so I like getting some that are a bit longer, but not too long. I really like these from Target, and they come in three different washes.

7. Another swimsuit :) - I recommend at least two swimsuits. They get worn so easily, so it's nice to have a couple. I just bought a suit similar to this one, but mine is dark green and it's a halter top, not a bandeau. I really like this look because it's a bit more classy and understated than some crazy bright swimsuit.

find it here
8. Dresses - You can never have too many dresses. You can dress them up, dress them down, add cool accessories, basically do anything. Fun, light dresses are pretty much the greatest things that have ever come into creation (in my opinion).

find it here
9. Wedges - I have not gotten a pair yet, but I'm searching! Wedges can basically go with anything; they're very versatile and chic.

find these here
10. Crossbody purse - Mixing two popular trends this season, the crossbody purse and mint, this bag is PERFECT. I love it and want it soooo badly. I guess I kind of have a lot of bags...but still.

find it here
11. Tote - And last but not least, a tote - you'll need something to put all of your stuff in when you are heading to the beach! I love this tote; it's just so cute!

So that's it. I hope you enjoyed, and if you are going somewhere warm for spring break, I hope you take some of these tips! Anyone going somewhere cool? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
